Panoceania Fusiliers Part 4

Hi All,

The Fusilier is now complete with my own custom base.

Firstly a note on how I made the base.

As I'm sure you can see from the pic, its pretty straight forward. I took some plasticard(about 2mm) and cut out about twenty circles using a dot punch(the type usually used to cut holes in paper). I then superglued these directly onto my slottabase. Once dry I trimmed of the overhang and cleaned it up with files and sandpaper.

Next I added some pins(paperclip) to the feet of the mini, once dry I worked out were I wanted it to be placed on the base, then drilled the base holes. Dry tested the mini in place, noting were the shadow fell onto the base.

As for painting:

Grey undercoat
Airbrushed basecoat - Dark Grey(VMC)
Airbrushed 1st Highlight around the edges, leaving the shadows in the middle of the base - Light Grey(VMC)
Airbrushed 2nd Highlight - White(VMC)
Airbrushed a coat of Gloss varnish
Painted(with brush) between the tiles and on the rim of the base - Black(VMC)
Cleaned-up any misplaced black with the white.
Airbrushed a coat of Matt varnish
Attached mini with superglue

Here are some finished pics:
