Painting Guide, The Hobbit: Escape from Goblin Town - Gandalf Pt.1

Hi All,

In a slight change to the original program, I've decided to work on these EfGT minis in stages. This will enable myself & anyone using these guides to get minis onto their tabletops quicker, all be it with the basic basecoats to start with (& a layer of matt varnish).

I present Gandalf as the first of these er, quick start guides.

Painting guide to this point:

Clean-up & wash the miniatures, attach to bases
Superglue ‘Mixed Gravel with Baking Powder’ to the bases
AB a UC with a 2:1 mix of Black Surface Primer (V): Airbrush Thinner (V) (or Halfords Primer)
BC the base top unthinned Dark Chocolate (DA)
Drybrush the base top unthinned Antique Gold (DA)
Lightly drybrush the base top unthinned Buttermilk (DA)
BC all the larger rocks, rim of the base & clean-up the mini Black (DA)
Drybrush all the larger rocks on the base Neutral Grey (DA)
Lightly drybrush all the larger rocks on the base Slate Grey (DA)
BC the skin Brown Rose (VMC)
BC the hair/beard Cold Grey (VGC)
BC the under sleeves Tan Earth (VMC)
BC the under robes Luftwaffe Uniform (VMC)
BC the outer robes Grey Green (VMC)
BC the hat/scarf Steel Grey (VGC)
BC the belt Leather Brown (VMC)
BC the staff German C. Black Brown (VMC)
BC the scabbard/harness/sword hilt Night Blue (VGC)
BC the metal parts of the sword Gunmetal Metal (VMC)
